1. Near-field perception without rotating parts

E1R and FTX are wide-angle solid-state LiDARs for near-field zones, blind spots, robots and vehicles. Unlike a 360° scanner, multiple units may be required. Selection therefore depends as much on mounting geometry as maximum range.

2. Sourced TECHNICAL table

The French table provides 14 normalized specifications. E1R and FTX figures remain revision- and contract-dependent; require the exact production datasheet.

These products evolve rapidly: confirm every preliminary value against the delivered SKU, firmware and datasheet.

3. Coverage, occlusion and quality

Project FoV from the mounting point to reveal bodywork, mast, forks and hidden zones. Measure minimum distance, FoV edges, dark objects, retroreflectors and ghost points. Better central density does not necessarily offset a ground blind spot.

4. Integration and safety

Validate automotive or industrial Ethernet, power, connector, PTP, latency and timestamp format. In ROS2, ensure the exact unit is recognized by the driver, PointCloud2 retains needed fields and TF is timestamped. A perception LiDAR does not automatically replace a certified safety scanner.

5. Advantages, limits and price

E1R is relevant when the RoboSense ecosystem and compact envelope are already selected. FTX fits naturally into a Hesai and automotive toolchain. Series pricing is contractual: compare samples, NRE, MOQ, cables, tools, support and warranty rather than an isolated price.

6. Project recommendation

For a robot, choose after a real-speed occlusion test and driver verification. For a vehicle, prioritize the part qualified for your electrical architecture and perception supplier. If instantaneous 360° coverage is required, price multiple solid-state units against one spinner.
